Emily Abrams, M.A., CCC-SLP

Founder & Speech-Language Pathologist

Emily is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Virginia with over three years of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hearing & Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The George Washington University.

Emily has worked in a variety of settings, including a public school, a specialized school for children with developmental disorders, and a private practice. These diverse experiences have allowed her to support children with a wide range of communication needs across different environments.

With a passion for working with children, Emily uses a play-based approach to therapy, focusing on building engagement and connection to support language development. She is committed to creating individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's unique strengths and challenges.

Emily has specialized training in several evidence-based approaches, including the Language Acquisition through Motor Planning approach (LAMP), DIR/Floortime, Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT), and the Social Thinking® curriculum. She is also certified as an Early Intervention Professional through the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
